Four Directions Youth and Family Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that exists to serve the youth and families of Rosebud County and Southeastern Montana, providing recreational, intercultural socialization, counseling and leisure opportunities focused on the development and wholeness of our youth population. Our goal is to bring Native and non-Native youth together in a setting that is both safe and overcomes the obstacles of racism, alcoholism and drug use, poverty and isolation. We celebrate diversity and seek to establish greater trust between our various communities.
To realize our mission, we must build the The Four Directions Youth Center. And before that can be done, we have to acquire a suitable property on which to build the Center.

The best site areas for the Four Directions Center lie near the Northern Cheyenne Reservation border. This beautiful area accompanies Rosebud Creek as it flows north towards the Yellowstone River.
The border area is powerful. It includes the sacred Deer Medicine Rock
which may be seen towards the west as you enter the Northern Cheyenne
Reservation from the north. These rocks convey wisdom and insight to the
local people, Native and non-Native. Sitting Bull is believed to have
carved his visions upon these rocks.
We at Four Directions Youth and Family Center believe that the border
between the two cultures can also be a sacred and powerful meeting place for
our youth and families.

We are engaged in a very challenging project. Initially, we need to raise $5,000 for an appraisal of what we have identified as an ideal property for our Center. This will enable us to gauge where we stand with regard to purchasing this particular property for development.
